# Trace Software License: Usage Rights and Restrictions

> Trace is free for personal and commercial Roblox experiences. Learn what you can and cannot do under the Trace Software License Agreement.

Trace is provided free of charge under the Trace Software License Agreement issued by Pure Studio. This page summarizes the key terms in plain language so you know exactly what you are allowed to do, what is prohibited, and what obligations you take on when you install Trace in your Roblox experience. If something goes wrong, Pure Studio's liability is limited to the amount you paid for the software - which, since Trace is free, is zero.

## Free License

Trace is free. Installing it does not cost anything, and you do not owe Pure Studio royalties or revenue share regardless of how much money your experience earns.

The license grants you:

    Install and run Trace in any number of your Roblox experiences, including experiences owned by groups you manage.

    Monetize your game freely - in-game purchases, game passes, premium perks, and paid access are all permitted. No royalties are owed to Pure Studio.

    Adapt Trace's behavior through supported configuration scripts, hooks, and the settings panel. Customize it to fit your game's needs.

## What You Cannot Do

The following are prohibited under the Trace Software License Agreement:

* **Sell, rent, or sublicense Trace** - you may not charge others for access to the Trace software itself or include it as a paid component of a product you sell.
* **Remove or alter attribution** - copyright notices, Pure Studio branding, and author credits embedded in the software must remain intact.
* **Redistribute Trace under your own name** - you may not re-upload or redistribute Trace as a standalone asset, model, or package without prior written consent from Pure Studio.
* **Use Trace to deliver malicious code** - Trace may not be used as a vehicle to deploy exploits, unauthorized scripts, or any code that harms players or third parties.
* **Reverse-engineer the anticheat for competing products** - you may not deconstruct Trace's anticheat algorithms for the purpose of building a product that competes with Trace.

## Your Data Responsibilities

Trace stores moderation records - warnings, bans, notes, and session replays - in your experience's Roblox DataStores. You are the data controller for this information. You are responsible for:

* Handling player data erasure requests in accordance with Roblox's policies and applicable privacy regulations.
* Ensuring your use of stored moderation data complies with the terms of service of any platform or service you integrate with.

Pure Studio does not have access to your DataStore data and does not process it on your behalf.

## License Revocation

Pure Studio reserves the right to revoke this license at any time. If your license is revoked, you must immediately cease using Trace and delete all copies from your experiences and development environment.

## Governing Law

The Trace Software License Agreement is governed by the laws of the **Republic of Poland**.

Trace is an independent product by Pure Studio. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or maintained by Roblox Corporation. References to Roblox platform features are made solely for integration and documentation purposes.
