Quickstart: Install and Configure Trace for Roblox

Download the Trace .rbxm from our channel, unpack it into ServerScriptService and ReplicatedStorage, wire up your Discord webhook, and publish.

Getting Trace into your Roblox experience takes fewer than five minutes. Download the latest Trace.rbxm from our official channel, drop it into Roblox Studio, move the contents to the right services, configure your Discord webhook, and publish. Anticheat, the admin panel, and Discord integrations are live on the next server start.

Download Trace.rbxm from our channel

Grab the latest Trace.rbxm file from the official Pure Studio distribution channel (Discord). Always use the official source to make sure you're installing v26.1 and not an outdated or modified copy.

Import the .rbxm into your place

Open your place in Roblox Studio. Right-click Workspace in the Explorer, choose Insert from File, and select the Trace.rbxm you just downloaded. A Trace model appears under Workspace containing everything Trace needs.

Unpack the model into the correct services

Trace ships as a single container so it imports cleanly, but its parts need to live in specific services to run:

  • Move the Trace MainModule (and its TraceConfig sibling) from Workspace/Trace into ServerScriptService.
  • Move the Trace RemoteEvent folder (contains Signal and AdminFunction) into ReplicatedStorage.
  • Move the client LocalScripts (TraceClient, TraceAdminPanel) into StarterPlayer → StarterPlayerScripts.

Once everything is in place, delete the now-empty Trace folder from Workspace.

Configure your Discord webhook

In the Explorer, open ServerScriptService → TraceConfig and set the Webhook field to your Discord webhook URL:

return {
    Webhook = "https://discord.com/api/webhooks/YOUR_WEBHOOK_URL_HERE",
}

Replace YOUR_WEBHOOK_URL_HERE with the full webhook URL from your Discord channel's Integrations settings. Trace delivers ban notices, detection alerts, staff actions, and moderator calls to this endpoint.

See Discord webhooks for the full list of event types and how to route them.

Save and publish

Save your place and publish it to Roblox. Anticheat detections, the admin panel, and Discord integrations are live on the next server start. The Experience Owner must open the panel once and accept the Pure Studio License Agreement before Trace activates for other players.
